You know how there’s a large part of the population who would likely tell you “I hate surprises,” when asked?
Well, I discovered that it’s because no one has been surprised with a birthday party amongst the vines at Jonathan Edwards Winery before. If everyone had experienced this kind of surprise I think we would be able to change the negative association with the dreaded word “Surprise!”.
Elegant. Fun. Delicious.
These are words that could give you a hint about the evening - but to really understand the magic you would have had to be there. This sentiment is in fact one of the *many* reasons I am a photographer. To share the magic of an event, a feeling, that otherwise would likely have become a little bit fuzzy with the passing of time. And you know what? This night deserves to be remembered. Because as much as it was about insanely delicious food, a serenade through the vineyard, sparklers on deserts, an educational tour of the wine making process, and decor so beautiful it made you think you’d been transported into a fairytale - more than that, this surprise party was about friendship.
A heartwarming reminder that we all have people in our lives who would go to great lengths to bring a little magic into our everyday, whatever shape that may take.
