WHAT MAKES THESE ALBUMS DIFFERENT FROM SOMETHING YOU COULD JUST BUY ONLINE?
There really are 3 main things that make opting into an album credit different than what your experience would be with an online company: custom cover debossing, lay-flat spines, and me. I’ll be with you every step of the design process, guiding you with tips and tricks for selecting your photos that you would like seen in the initial design. The other part of “me” that should be explained is custom designs, rounds of proofing, additional detailed edits (as an included part of the process to get your photos print-ready), a Zoom design call if desired, handling printing, shipping and ensuring quality of product. All of this is a part of the album experience.
putting the fine art in fine art albums
Albums are created by hand using museum grade printing on acid-free papers with true matte finishes. They lay flat and feature square corners. Personalization options include several fabric choices, debossing, and custom presentation boxes. The professional print company I’ve partnered with to produce your album is a luxury brand partnering only with professional photographers to achieve the highest quality finished product.

FABRICS
Textures are everything and these fabrics do not disappoint. I’ll be honest, the extensive fabric options and TONES are one of the leading reasons that after working with several print companies globally I’ve settled with my current team. The color options for linen, leather and suede are abundant and there’s sure to be one just right for the design of your day. Plus, many of my very favorite fabric options are included in the base album selections and if we want to go even more luxury you’ll have plenty of options for upgrading. All of the options you see below are Classic Linen and included in the base album credits.
DEBOSSING
Standard Debossing includes 14 plain text options on up to two lines; the Debossing Collection offers 16 premade and semi-custom designs (pictured here); and, Custom Debossing offers the freedom to submit any unique design, in a small or a large size - small designs measure 4x2 inches and large designs measure 7x3 inches. Blind debossing is our default style of debossing, which means no color or foil is added to the impression. Foil debossing is available on Classic Linen, Luxe Linen, Luxe Leather, Vegan Leather and Vegan Suede covers, in gold, rose gold, and silver.
heirloom albums
Wedding days require planning and lots of decisions about showcasing who you are as a couple to your closest friends and family. The process of capturing your story in a way that does your relationship justice requires time. From the beginning of getting to know each other, to the execution of a truly spectacular day, the delivery of your images, and finally - the creation of your wedding album — your experience is one that should conclude with something as grand as the rest of it. I want your photos to live beyond the day, beyond your phone or hard drive. My personal connection to the significance of printed products is deeply personal and something that drives me to approach this portion of our time working together with care. It is because of this you’ll have found at least one album credit in your Proposal. Opting into a credit ensures that at minimum, you will receive a printed heirloom album in the size of what was included in your base collection. The reason they are structured as “credits” is to allow us room to make decisions following your wedding day that feel just right. We aren’t locked into anything other than designing an album. You also won’t find any partial credits around here - each album credit guarantees a printed album… and there are always options to upgrade in size (dimension), spread count, or more luxury finishes. We like choices, but not too many to help avoid potential overwhelm. And my final note before we go on is that my role as a wedding photographer is truly an honor. It is much in part due to the two little ones you see pictured that I am driven towards longterm preservation of the now and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to walkthrough it all with my clients.
BOXES
There are a few options for the box you will chose to store your album in: the complimentary white one that is included in each credit, or an upgrade to a fabric or wooden box. The complimentary box is a great option for a simple storage solution, but if you decide you’d like to upgrade, my heart lies with the wooden box. Beautiful craftsmanship is at the heart of both the fabric and wooden, but the wood certainly provides a sturdy elegance I have found to be unmatched. Each box is handcrafted from walnut with various stain choices and a smooth, clean finish. And the real icing on the cake? Lid engraving is included and we can match the album cover and lid design.
the album design process
1.
When we meet over Zoom for your wedding gallery delivery we will begin discussing the album design process. Following our call you will receive access to your full gallery, an in-depth Album Order Form and a separate email in your inbox with instructions for how to move forward with photo selections you would like to see included in the initial design. The Order Form is where any upgrades can be made, or duplicates ordered. It’s also where you’ll have the opportunity to select all of the pretty finishes we’ve chatted about above.
2.
I'll design your album based on the details you've given me and the images you've chosen. From here, I'll send you an initial draft to proof via an online album-specific proofing program. It's easy and straightforward! This first round is entirely meant to get a good feel for the layout and overall feel of your day as it exists in a wedding album.
3.
Once the layout is secure the second round of proofing is for all of the detailed edits. It’ll be up to you if you’d like to schedule a design call. I always love the opportunity to see you both again and it gives us a chance to work through the specifics of your design in realtime. After two rounds of proofing and a final approval of your design, you’ll get one more confirmation email that will include a breakdown of everything you’ve selected, a mockup of your cover and an invoice that notes any upgrades and applies your album credit (if you’ve selected a collection that includes one, of course!). And then? Off to print it goes! This can take anywhere from 3-6 weeks before the album arrives to me depending on the season. From here, I do a thorough once-over to make sure everything is looking beautiful.
4.
The final step is to get your heirloom album into your hands is to ship it off in custom packaging with insurance & tracking. The cherry on top of our time together and the most perfect way to carry your images into the next chapters of life.
duplicate albums
After designing your album and getting ready to go to print you’ll have the opportunity to add on any duplicate album orders. It really is as simple as it sounds! We take your album design, duplicate it in any size you would like and order as many additional you need for family or holiday gifts. My wonderful print company passes on a discount when they’re able to print multiples and I pass that discount right to you. The options for ordering duplicates will be outlined in your Album Order Form.
questions?
I love questions because it means you’re diving into the information and invested in the same things I am - preserving your legacy. If you have questions about anything regarding the album design and ordering process, send them over!
