Wedding Day Invitation Suite Details

It’s no secret that my soul sings with the opportunity to photograph pretty things, and when the New England winter hits in Connecticut I usually lament about how different it is than the winters I grew up with in New Hampshire. I cannot overstate how much of a difference it makes to have consistent fresh snowfall over the winter (the way the snow reflects sunshine makes the biggest different in how light winter truly ends up feeling) and Connecticut has had a sad amount of impressive snowstorms since I moved here a little over eight years ago. Don’t get me wrong, I relish the solitude and beauty that the Connecticut coast offers in this slower season, but it’s just different. So when the slower season began this year, and the skies turned gray and trees were barren, I was getting antsy to photograph some beautiful art.

Herein enters the incredible work of Nob Hill Jane and Tulaloo. These two artists are beyond talented and it’s always such a privilege to continue to get to know incredible local wedding vendors.

Working with a calligrapher and stationer allows you so many opportunities to elevate every element of the aesthetic of your wedding day and your guests’ experience. From vintage addressed envelopes, custom watercolors or venue sketches, handwritten artful details as far as the eye can see, raw edge paper, letterpress elements, wax seals, incredibly custom seating charts and so much - all of these things become open to you when partnering with an incredible creative team that includes a stationer and calligrapher. Really, anything you’ve pinned to your Pinterest board suddenly becomes achievable.

And as a wedding photographer who is a lover of all of the wedding day details, having these romantic elements to photograph from the moment I begin on a wedding day is so inspiring.
